Block Construction & Design was founded in 1972 by Abe Block in Abbotsford, BC. What began as Abe Block Construction has grown into a proud family legacy built on hard work, integrity, and uncompromising quality.

Abe personally trained his son Ryan, showing him firsthand what true craftsmanship looks like. For many years, both generations — Abe and Shirley alongside Ryan and Angela — worked side by side, building custom and spec homes that have become lasting legacies in the Abbotsford and Chilliwack communities.

Today, Ryan and Angela proudly carry on the Block name from the Vernon and surrounding areas. With Ryan’s extensive experience in framing, contracting, and construction, and Angela’s expertise as a Certified Interior Designer and project manager, they bring over 30 years of combined knowledge to every project. Having built and renovated their own homes while raising a family, they deeply understand what makes a space truly functional for everyday living.

We build and renovate homes with smart functional layouts, carefully selected trades, and expert guidance on colors and fixtures — all thoughtfully tailored to your lifestyle and budget. Our collaborative, hands-on approach means we work closely with you from design through completion, handling the details so you don’t have to.
